Forbes Magazine; top auto manufacturers

I made this post over at VWV a while back, but the recent Ford vs Toyota thread made me revive it over there. So I thought I'd post it here as well:

So I was checking out my latest issue of Forbes magazine today [Top 200 companies worldwide] and was quite surprised at the results from the automotive companies. For the record:

Category : First Place : Second Place

Leader in Sales: GM - $185 billion : Ford - $164 billion
Leader in Profits: Toyota - $8 billion : DaimlerChrysler - $5 billion
Leader in Assets: GM - $450 billion : Ford $320 billion
Leader in Market Value: Toyota - $115 billion : DC - $47 billion

Automotive Company rankings among ALL worldwide companies:

#8 Toyota
#21 Daimler-Chrysler
#29 General Motors
#49 Honda Motor
#51 Nissan Motor
#71 Volkswagen Group
#74 BMW
#75 Ford Motor
#100 Renault

between you, conjur, and warcrow, i never have to actually look for car news, bush-bashing news, or game news.

im not amazed that GM is the leader in assets. I am wondering if they only included GM's car manufacturers, or EVERYTHING they own/ have majority of.

Daimler Chrysler actually is second in profits? who woulda thunk it.

what are the #7-1 companies by the way?
