The Republican vs. Republican budget war is now wide open for all to see. The House’s intransigence on this particular issue — it insists that the DHS appropriation include language that somehow reverses President Obama’s executive orders on immigration -– is being matched by the Senate’s unwillingness to take the steps needed either to match what the House wants or develop its own alternative.

The current budget stalemate and those to come were inevitable the day after Election Day. Even though the House and Senate both have Republican majorities and are controlled by the same political party, the GOP representatives and senators have very different constituencies and, therefore, vastly dissimilar political needs.

But, of course, this is all happening because Democrats aren't getting off their asses,.. and,.. Obama.

He's done what he's going to do wrt immigration. Congress can follow along or stew in a snit.

Repubs like it just the way it is. They get a perpetual pander point to their base & pork barrel spending while business enjoys their illegal labor. Which means that the current proposal is pure posturing, designed to fail, either in Congress or by veto.

Spending needs to be curtailed. But the republicans that want to keep their jobs in 2016 don't want cuts.... They are smart enough to realize the sheeple voters get emotional when liberal groups put out commercials showing grandma getting thrown off a cliff by a meanie republican. What to do.... What to do.
