Stewart for sure, one of the only definite starters on there. And even though detroit may suck, he will still get carries thus FP (Fantasy Points) Anyone else is a risk. He's a pretty good back too, he will probably put about near 8 TD's with 1000 yds this year.

my vote goes to Trung Canidate. He'll start if Faulk gets hurt, and will also get some playing time when the game's out of reach; should be mid-3rd sometimes.

i was thinking that too, but its really hit or miss with him. stewart is more like a conservative and steady pick. but then again, this is the nfl... anyone can get hammered.

Granted Stewert is a starter, but how's his offensive line? also, if the team falls behind they might have to pass more often. The way I see it, Canidate will run and catch, *might* get a start or two (injuries or meaningless games), and should play mop-up minutes.

you're right it's a tough call, I would ask how the league is scored-do you need to pick a starting RB for each week, or do both players automatically "start"? if you need to choose a starter (1 of your 2 backs) i'd say canidate, since you could check if faulk is hurt, if the other team's D is weak (early mop-up), etc. if not, and both "count" every week, Stewart might make more sense; but im still not convinced, as mentioned above.

edit: also, make sure the players dont have a bye the same week-or, if they do, that it's not a problem in any way.

I would go with Kevan Barlow. Hearst has a greater chance of getting injured than Faulk does. And when Hearst goes down, watch out. Barlow is a monster. Even with a healthy Hearst, Barlow will probably get close to 1000 yards. In addition, the 49ers tend to use Barlow on goalline situations more than they do with Hearst (same number of TDs as Hearst last year with half the number of carries).

I would suggest Canidate, but if this is your only backup RB, then I have to go with someone who actually plays in the event that one of your starters goes down.

another vote for barlow...he'll get playing time regardless as he's young and raring to go. And if hearst goes down then he'll become the fulltime starter...just think Shawn Alexander or Dominic Rhodes. :p

anderson is a good RB, but right now, the broncos plan to use him as FB. that prolly means less rushes and FFL points.

Canidate is definately a good backup for Faulk. Even though he only got to play a little bit last season, he kicked ass. I wanted him so bad on my team but someone else had the insight and picked him up before I had the chance. With that said, you should pick the best available "starting RB." Don't pick Trung since he's not a starter...and incase your main RB goes down, trung might not even be playing! You don't have to have the best backup RB now...just pick someone decent for now so you're roster is full and you won't have to drop your waiver ranking on picking a so so RB later on down the line. Also, keep in mind that players can get hurt anytime, so the strategy here is to put yourself in position to pick a good free agent/waiver when you need to.

I gotta agree with James Stewart. Detroit may suck but he is kinda ll they have. All tohse other guys are not even locked ina starting position. If faulk gets hurt, Canidate for sure, but is Faulk hurt? no.

wheatly is splitting time with charlie garner. and levens is currently the backup for duce staley (but can he stay healthy?). so both those are not really guaranteed many touches.
