for two days I havent been able to turn my head more than about 45°, whats wrong?

Czar

Lifer
just hurts if I try to turn it further, hurts even more if I try to tilt my head up or down more than I can now
What can I do about this?

You probably just have a "crick" in your neck due to a muscle strain or sleeping incorrectly. This has happened to me several times before and usually clears up in a couple days. Nothing really to worry about unless it persists of course.

Put a heat pack on the sides of your neck. Seriously, it'll loosen it up. I fell asleep in lecture last spring and my neck hurt for like 3 days.

Your head is glued to your headrest. After about 45 degrees you start pulling hair and skin and it hurts. Try some solvent to dissolve the glue.

I have a tempur pillow that I think is good, but I also have another one in my bed which is just the normal type and sometimes in my sleep I change to it. Could have happened then, would probably explain why.

dont think there are any chiropractors close by, any other ways to get rid of this?

tried that, not sure if it changed anything, but it felt kinda nice 🙂

Or you might even want to see a real doctor.

I had a similar problem a few months ago. Basically I had a huge knot in my shoulder that wouldn't go away. My doctor gave me some muscle relaxers and it went away.

some muscle relaxers could work, I'll try that if it doesnt go away in a few days by it self

thanks everyone 🙂

Get to a chiropractor.

i agree. it's actually ironic you posted this because i woke up with my neck like this on Monday, including a terrible headache caused by it. By Tuesday afternoon, i couldn't stand it anymore, so i went to my chiropractor and yesterday it was somewhat better; today it's 80% better (it doesnt always help instantly, as nerves/muscles have been pinched for a while and need to relax).

FWIW...

go to a massage therapist. he/she should be able to pin point what muscle it is that is tight. once they do they will work the muscle insertion and origin points and that should fix you up.
