For those with wall mounted tvs...

What did you guys do for the wiring?

I have seen raceways, but not sure I really like those.

I can do in wall receptacles, but that seems like it is going to add a lot of hdmi connections and add potential for signal degradation.

I am currently looking at pass through receptacles to have single cables going from the component to the tv. Do I still need in wall rated cables? The cables I have say they are category 2, is that the same as CL-2?

Now I am in the cutting holes in the wall vs not wanting to fix them when it comes time to move.

Anyways, what did you guys do? What worked and what did not? TV arrives this week, but the mount is here and all other components are too.

Well if the job is well done and holes are on the small size you could just put some face plate over the top instead of repairing the holes later. I dont really care for a wall mount. If you have accessories like a blue ray player or theater sound system or satelite/cable box or plan on hooking up to a computer then Maybe you are better off with a stand and a TV cabinet. You have to put all your DVD/BLUE RAYS or Games or whatever somewhere. I like the TV at head height more or less when you sit down. Why do you want to be looking up all the time?

You could also put it on top of a long dresser or a dinette side table. Some people have taken old furniture and put on a few fake drawer fronts and set their TV up that way. There are many possibilities.

I dont see the value of a wall mount unless it has a swing arm or something like that.
