Just grabbed a 15" philips 150S from staples. it was the floor model=very cheap, so it obviously took some abuse, alot of time turned on etc, but it has a sharp picture and no cosmetic flaws so i grabbed it. the one wrinkle is it is kind of dark and dingy and the color temp seems off (it is pink/magenta) when it fires up for the first time in the morning. as it warms up over time it seems to be ok - takes 10-15minutes.

do others with lcds have any similar issues? or should i get it swapped out w/ another from philips?

Could it be a bad power supply? I know some of the early LCD panel's had an external power supply. Or if it's plugged into a surge protector maybe try it plugged directly into the wall outlet. I have an LCD panel and it powers up bright and clear immediately.

it does have an external ps. i tried it on another machine and it fired up bright as could be. brought it back to radeon and it fired up nice and bright, who knows? seems to work fine now.
