it took two months for me way back in early 2000 when my asus k7v blew. i had to argue with their tech support for them to accept it as an exchange. worst customer service ever for a computer product.

My initial RMA on a ti4600 ultra deluxe was ~2 weeks, then it failed a month later, and took another ~3 weeks for the 2nd time RMA.

Chrissy S? That was the same chick I dealth with!

Dear Sir or Madam:

Your RMA# is 311733. You must write your RMA# on the outside package. Attention your package to RMA department. Do not attention your package to an RMA representative, unless instructed otherwise. Do not include any accessories such as manuals, software, CPU, memory, retention clips, cables, or your original box. Your product may be exchanged out, and you will not receive back anything that was sent in with it. Also to insure proper troubleshooting/ testing, please include a brief description of the problem you are having with your ASUS product. Please be sure to package return product very carefully to prevent damage during transit. ASUS is not responsible for losses or damages incurred due to shipping. We recommend two inches of padding all the way around your product. You must package your product in a box. ASUS will reject any products packaged in an envelope.

Ship to:

should I be firm then and prepare to argue or should I take a softer tone?

I thought bad tech support meant that they didn't have enough personnel...not that they returned a defective product back to you

It could be faster to RMA it to the place you bought it from. Places like Newegg will even cross-ship you a replacement provided you call them first. They will need your credit card number though just in case.

Chrissy is the RMA department manager, and they're opening a new RMA service center Kentucky of all places. Asus realizes they are behind the 8-ball in the support department, and is trying to remedy the situation, albeit I think too slowly.

Anyone who owns an Asus product may want to record the contact info in this thread, it isn't readily available on Asus' web sites.

I had to RMA my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe and a AMD 2800+ since I had no way of testing either one to see which one was causing my system not to boot! Newegg just got my RMA yesterday....any ideas to when I will get my replacements? or should I just replace the parts with new ones.....?
