So here's the dilly along with a brief background. I bought Final Fantasy XI about a week or two after it came out, it installed fine, all was dandy. I played it for about a month and decided I didn't have time for it; hence I uninstalled it. Now, approximately 6 months later, I've decided I would like to take it up again. The problem is this - the game installs fine and such, but the PlayOnline Viewer registration code, clearly printed in the instruction manual of MY LEGAL copy of the game does not work. It says "Invalid Registration Code". How can this be? That's the code which came with the game... Anyone have ANY idea what to do? I find these sorts of issues quite irritating, so my appologies if I overreact a bit. Thanks!

That's next on my list, but I'm afraid, by the time they open for today, I'll be at work already. Thought I'd see if I can take care of it beforehand, but it seems as though I'm one of 2 people having this problem, no one's real familiar with it.

Thanks for digging up that post. The good news for me is he says he got it at the bottom of the thread. Problem is, he wasn't kind enough to share how. If anyone knows anything about this prob - please let me know. Thanks.

Obviously my copy/paste skills are sub par this morning. What I *meant* to post was this link. According to the post near the bottom titled, "ATTENTION, THE ORIGINAL THREAD INFO IS WRONG!", it says that if you cancelled your actual PlayOnline account, you have essentially agreed never to play the game again. Perhaps this is what you did instead of just deleting your character ID?

Yeah, I'm afraid I think you're right. I would have never seen that in the manual, but it is apparently there. Rather irritating that they can do that; however, there's still a chance a quick call to tech support could turn things in my favor. Thanks for digging up that post!
