At least it's not like my cousin who asks me to install a removeable hard drive for him so he can go over his friends place and put on gigs of porn and then watch at home.

Say yes to what? When a family member needs help with something they just call and start explaining their problem. It's not "Hey i have a problem, can you help me?"

my mom brought her PC over last night, I built it for her as a present. It's weird cause now it boots up but only if you let it sit for a while, I think it's shorting out somewhere. I really hate how dealing with mobo standoffs and not knowing if they're causing problems. I guess I'll find out after I take the whole thing apart :( :(

i had this problem, took me forever to figure it out. tried all different configs and it finally worked. i took someones advice from the forums and set the motherboard on a phone book and hooked up only the necessary items to see if it would post/boot. once it did, i messed with the standoffs for a good half hour or so and it finally worked. have fun!
