Say I'm playing a game in the tray (real of course) but I am done and want to go back to my xbmc dashboard... is there a trick to do this without a hard reboot (and taking my disc out) ? I'm not comfortable with turning it off and back on so frequently... I don't mind removing the disc if I have to.

You can easily switch from xbmc to a game by inserting the disc and doing any type of read... it will just load the game... but the other way doesn't seem possible. It just either freezes when you remove the disc or says it's dirty...

i'm not sure if it's the same command, or even if there's one like it for xbmc. but, for evo-x and mxm the default is both triggers and the start and back buttons simultaneously

that would be sweet if it works... I'll have to give it a go later.

That works on an unmodded XBox if I remember correctly.

yeah, there should a in game reboot type thing. But you would still have to remove the disc from the tray since it will boot of the tray again.
both triggers+back+start works for me.

Yeah, I use EVOX and that's exactly what I do. I didn't know it was just triggers and start+back... I was mashing EVERYTHING. Still works that way though.

but does it go back to your xbmc dashboard? When I do that it reboots the Xbox then I still have to manually select XBMC to open it up again.

BadKarma - I am pretty sure XBMC can play OGM and I think it can do MKV as well....

nitsuj3580 - yeah that would take you back to your dash. I think there is some way to have XBMC come up when the xbox boots, but I am not sure how to do it. I only use it for media center stuff, and that's not much recently :(
