1. Since the volume controls are below the power button, doesn't that result in accidental pressing of those volume buttons when holding the phone? Would have been better if they had placed them high on the other side.

2. I read somewhere that the speakers are at the bottom. When making a phone call, don't you want audio to just come out from the top speakers and the mic at the bottom?

3. Does the phone material feel sturdy? Anybody perhaps know what it's made from and what's the strongest plastic that can be used for phones?

Anything else?

Thanks.

1. No, never a problem.

2. Those are the speakerphone/other audio speakers. The handset speaker is where you'd expect.

3. It's fine. Plenty of cases if you're worried.

1. No problem at all.

2. Like A5 said, those are external speakers.

3. I've run mine naked since release. It's very sturdy and the back has actually gotten...better? with age. The matte back to it is getting a little softer to the touch and it's not as slippery as it was initially. Only wear points are on the very edges of the back side of the phone. They are a bit sharp out of the box and have some small scuffs/dents on the edge you can feel with a fingernail.

Thanks. Any diff in feel between the white and black version?

No clue. I have the black one. Some reviews said the white is less "matte'y" to prevent it from picking up as much smudge and grime as the black cases.

All I can say that the 5X is below the Moto E in terms of build quality. It is also below the Moto Nexus 6 in every possible way. I returned the phone. The performance simply sucked compared to a Moto Nexus 6. The 5X might be one of the worst Nexus phones.

Yeah. That post was a bit melodramatic. Don't forget the Nexus 6 was a $600+ phone and should be compared to the 6p. The 5x is a budget device. Good screen, good camera, nice form factor. Some corners were clearly cut to hit the price point. But it's not a cheap feeling phone. It's sturdy and has worn well for me.
