Overall it was fantastic, I loved it. It is really really mindless though. But it's one of the funnest (as in fun, not funny) movies I've watched in a long time.

Don't go expecting a good story and you shouldn't be dissapointed.

It's alot of fun to watch But we have a dragstrip here in town, and I love going to the Friday night Street-legal races, even when I don't participate (We have a 1/4 mile drag, a 1 mile oval and 2 mile road course at race city).

Go expecting a good story and you will feel dumber after watching

Can't beat the sound of a 1970 Dodge Charger with a blown 426 Hemi rumbling to life on a Famous Players Paramount quality sound system

(You will note my bolding of the 70, the movie claims it to be a 69 charger, which it is not, it's a 70).

I didn't see it but was surprised that it made over 40 million this weekend. That is a major bit time opening weekend! I'm also surprised by the amount of interest this film has garnered on this forum. I wasn't even aware of the racing subculture this film appeals to.
