Last year I bought an Inspiron laptop.....when I got it the LCD was blurry and had these ugly dark blotches in the lower corners. After 3 calls to tech support (reboot? FLASH THE BIOS? WHY?) I finally got them to accept it for warranty repair. Got it back 5 days later - and it was WORSE, great big grey blotch right in the middle. Several more calls, more time wasted, sent in again. Came back with a note saying that nothing was wrong and the LCD was within their QC specs. I blew it out on eBay and got almost all my money back - then bought an ancient Thinkpad PIII450 600e for $350, and it's superior in every way except speed.
They used to be great but their QC sucks and their level 1 support is impossible to deal with.
