XX-12 GRABLE was fired on May 25, 1953 at the Nevada Test Site. A 280mm artillery gun fired the 15 kiloton nuclear shell. This was the only time a nuclear artillery shell was ever fired.

In my day....the nukes were so big, we needed a gigantic crane to even move one...


...but we didn't use it...we lifted them with our bare hands and loved it! We didn't have any of those fancy, new-fangled containment suits either....we just used plastic bags!:Q😉
