Where do you find the backplate if it didnt come with the MB? I got a refurb gigabyte GA-7N400 PRO and they didnt give me a backplate(IO panel). I called gigabyte and they would ship me one for $12. I am wondering if anyone has a better source. Anyone??? Thanks:)

Sure you realize you dont really have to have one if the back of your computer will not be seen. You will get more dust in, but depending on location this may not be an issue.

I got one from MSI for a refurb mobo. I tried local computer shops and they didn't have any. The mfg is the only place I could find to get one, but you could install the mobo without the plate. I don't think it would cause any problems although it does appear that the I/O plate is used to ground the connectors.

I have made templated of various i/o shields. When I buy a refurb m/b with no shield I trace one out on vinyl and cut out the holes with exacto knife. It is very easy to cut and is rigid enough to do the job. Vinyl can be picked up at construction site and there is unlimited source of small scraps where they have installed vinyl siding.
Not a perfect solution but it beats spending an hour on the phone trying to obtain a freebe or buying one
