I am NOT discussing the issue either to have 24 Pin adaptor or not!!!!!!!!!!!!

~~~~~ for those who buy the Thermaltek cable adaptor only~~~~~~~~
This is what happen: (please do read on)
I OCed my Venice 3000+ @ 2.5Ghz and I tried to see if I can push it higher.
Out of curiosity, I want to try if 24 pin adaptor will give me extra juice.
I bought a Thermalteck 20 to 24pin adaptor from local store (same as Newegg model)
After I installed the adaptor, my system NOT ONLY can't go higher, it start to freeze after few min with no gaming activity.
I removed the adaptor back to old 20 pin configuration. (system run perfectly @ 2.5Ghz)
I start to examine the adaptor and I fought this.
** NOTICE the pin #20 (on 24pin side) is NOT connected w/ pin #13 (on 20 pin side) ***
Then I start to search all over google and found every 20 to 24 pin adaptor, has connection between pin#20(24pin plug) and pin#13(20pin plug)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?image=12-145-002-04.jpg
**** look at the white cable ****
so I figure.....maybe I should bridge the connection between them!!!!!!
After I connect the pin#20(24pin plug) and pin#13(20pin plug)
Not only my CPU is running at 2.6Ghz perfectly and it now can post 2.7Ghz at 1.5V!!!!
Hi, The extra 4 pins and wires are to reduce signal mixing in the power leads. Same as using bigger wire for the leads. The extra 4 are duplicates of leads in the 20 pin connector. I assume your adaptor plugs onto one of the Molex drive connectors from the PS. It would be a good idea to not use the other Molex on the leads your adaptor is plugged into. Hope this helps a little, Jim
