Spiderman 3 is not to be released till 2006-2007 but I'm wondering who the next villian will be.
Who do you think it will be and why?

wow, people still with the hobgoblin even after all the crap.

hobgoblin was one of the first spiderman villians, he was just some crazy guy that stole the equipment.

Green Goblin 2
The last part of SM2 foreshadows a definate introduction of Green Goblin 2 with a transformation to insanity with Harry Osborn due to his learning that his best friend is his father's killer. This pushes him over the edge and he uses the gas he found to be become super-human.

The Lizard
With Peter Parkers grades getting better, his professor, Dr. Curt Connors, gets confidence in him and start research on limb regrowth with lizards (just as a lizard can regrow its tail if bitten off/chopped off/released). Something goes wrong and Dr. Connors uses himself as an experiment to get him arm back and bang, here's the Lizard.

The Wolfman (aka the Man Wolf)
With John Jameson being stood up at the alter, he has pit up feelings of revenge against Peter Parker, but puts them on the back burner. He makes (a) trip(s) to the moon where he picks up a virus that turns him in the Wolfman. On his way back however, a organism hitches a rid (the Venom organism).

So what's the basic plot?
Through much battle with 3 different villians, Spider-Man has to kill his once best friend, Harry Osborn (Green Goblin 2). This puts much emotional strain on Peter. A antidote is found for the Lizard to keep him in his human state. Wolfman is defeated as well, but somehow has to transfer the Venom organism to Spider-man (probably toward the end of the movie, thus leading into a Spider-Man 4, where we have Spider-Man as Venom.) With Spider-Man under the emotional strain, it is easy for the organism to take over somewhat.

But of course for SM4, we have to introduce people in SM3, such as Eddie Brock (journalist for the Daily Globe, and soon to be Venom {reintroduce in this case}), and Cletus Kasady (aka the convict that gets the Venom organism's spawn - Carnage). Cletus Kasady might not be in SM3, but definately will be in SM4.


Thoughts?
BTW, this post was entirely original based on my thoughts of the comics, and the tv series.

with that said, there's still a chance for venom in the 3rd one...here's how I would setup the next movie...

Something goes wrong with the space shuttle and spidey saves the day, but also takes something with him...the symbiote.

switch to harry, who is now completely insane due to the shock of knowing Peter is spidey and his father was GG. Peter and MJ gets married, which further fuel's harry's hatred for spidey.

We see how eddie was fired, and him working out religiously to dull the pains of the world. Perfecting his human body to the max.

Back to spidey, peter finds that this symbiote actually enhances his powers and uses it to his advantage.

Back to harry, he opens his father's files and finds out how to gain super-human strength through the green gas.

Back to spidey, peter starts to find out that the symbiote is trying to fuse with him permanently, so he seeks to separate with the symbiote. With much effort, spidey finally gets rid of the symbiote. However, the symbiote, now with love/hate emotions for spiderman, binds with Eddie, who was on the verge of suicide. With these extemely volatile emotions, the combination of symbiote and man, drives both to become the sinister venom.

Since hiding for several months, Harry finally uncovers the secrets and applies the green gas on himself, formally becoming GG II. With venom out on the lose, spidey never knew his best friend has now become his worst enemy.

Spidey's fight with venom is extreme, but he finally defeats venom with a sonic blaster he invented. The symbiot separates with eddie and are both locked away for good.

Peter finally gets a breather and enjoys his day off with MJ, little to his knowlege that GG II is zooming in on their location. With huge shock, peter senses danger when harry throws one of GG's bombs. This time, he was too late to save MJ, and she dies in his arms (insert extra cheese acting).

The movie ends with peter coming to terms with being a superhero and he realizes that he's going to put an end to his best friend. In the background, we hear peter saying, the price to pay to be a superhero, is sometimes too great to bear. At times, a superhero will be push to the edge and tested of his conviction. Whether he decides to stay or leave is up to him, but, with great power, comes great responsibility (we see spidey swinging to GG II, fast forward to Harry, we see him waiting for spidey). /end movie

now that would be an awesome SP3 :cool:

Kirsten Dunst let slip in a recent uk tv interview that there will be two villains in Spiderman 3, to be filmed late 2005 for 2007 release.

There'd better be. Green Goblin was kind of lame in the first one, if thats all the third move has to offer its going to be stale and uninteresting. My money is on the lizard, since his character has already been introduced...although I think Conners had both his arms at the beginning...perhaps we will see how he loses one.

Just found out that Eliza (something) (faith from buffy vampire slayer) will be in the movie too. apparantly she'll be assisting spiderman. this will turn out to be a very interesting movie....too bad we have to wait till 2007!!!!

i suggest 10 villians and spiderman needs to call in the help of the avengers and the fantastic four.
