For those that use electric shavers: What brand do you prefer?

I need to buy an electric shaver as I am fed up with the poor shave that a Mach 3 provides. I don't really know a whole lot about electric shavers and I was wondering if some of you could steer me in the right direction.

Price really isn't an issue as long as it works well. (hell, I WAS paying for Mach 3 blades) I would prefer one that I could take in the shower, but if there is a strictly dry shaver that works very well i'd consider it too.

Right now the Norelco models with the lotion dispensers are catching my eye... but I have no real preference at this point.

?😕?

<< are electric shavers really better then the ol' bic? 😛 >>

From what i've read, as long as you don't cheap out and get a crappy one, they are in fact better than a blade.

an electric will never get closer than a blade. It is just easier and less messy. I dont know what model I have but I got the $150 Silver norelco one, and it is okay.

The norelco type, round, rotating heads, don't seem to do as well for me as the straight (braun/panansonic) type. I can get just as close as a blade with my panasonic wet/dry, but the Norelco my wife bought me for Christmas this past year doesn't get very close.

I have one of the Norelco Advantage. It does pretty good on my face, but is horrible on my neck. Doesn't get very close on my neck and always gives me razor burn.

I'm back to using Mach 3's.

I use an electric on and off, it's a norelco tripple head thing. I don't like it very much, it seems to irritate my skin more than no name double blades. Not to mention if i use the norelco i have to shave every day, but if I use a blade it is MUCH smoother and I can skip a day.

Norelco. Remember you have to go electric for about a month before your skin gets used to it....can be a bit irritating at first.

Do a search for razor or shaver (maybe archived OT threads), I'd say that Norelco and Braun are probably the best.

Yesterday I saw a Norelco Advantage for $80 at CostCo B&M, dunno the model number though. If you're interested I can buy it for you and ship it up there to the land of maple leaf.

<< Philips Philishave. You can't beat the price. But honestly, electric shaver will never get close to a blade. Never. >>

my bruan gets really damn close. i hardly ever use a blade anymore

and not having to worry about razor burn, cuts, shaving cream or anything else like that... an electrice razor that works good is well worth it in my opinion.

ok, i've been using an electric shaver all adult life (10 years) and it always looks like i have a 5 o'clock shadow where my mustache is. 🙁

i had a braun. i just switched to the $7 electric that was on clearance at target. same thing.

i've tried a blade a few times, but i've always cut myself 🙁

so those spinning heads work better?

Braun.

works nearly as well as a mach 3 does, but it is easier and has the nice side burn trimming flip up thing.

i dunno

mine is blue and it was like on sale for $40 at target a while back it was origonally like 90 or something

<< i have the panasonic wet/dry. i like it 🙂 >>

Same... I do like how easy it is.... and it does really well except on chin/neck area... it never seems to get it all.

Here's a pretty informative website about electric shavers. Some pretty interesting posts.

Here's what I found out on a recent CostCo B&M trip:
$79.99 Norelco ReflexAction 5842XL which appears to be a discontinued model because I can't find any pictures or specs for this shaver. CostCo SKU 388056.

$89.99 Norelco Advantage 6735XD with BONUS which includes 5 additional lotions.

I can get any of the two electric shavers for the USD prices listed above, standard USPS shipping should cost around USD $10. PM me if you are still interested.
