1) do you keep in touch with the people that you met when you studied abroad? (i.e. other exchange students)

I'm on good terms with most people but I'm not close friends with anybody really.... I just hang out with them from time to time... and that's pretty much the extent of the relationships.

2) why do people always say studying abroad was "a life changing experience"
I really did enjoy myself here.. most days... and learned a lot. I didn't really try to live like an exchange student but more like a local. However, I don't know if I can classify my time here as a "life changing experience"
Nevertheless, I had my share of fun nights, fun classes, fun times, and most importantly, good memories.

I wasn't an exchange student, my mom was in the military so I went to an american school overseas. But it does give you a lot of exposure you wouldn't have otherwise.
All of my class is scattered across the country, dunno when we'll have a reunion, but we drop emails every once in a while.
