Either there are a lot of WoW players on the South Park staff or they've been watching all the WoW videos on Google and YouTube. They got the detached zombie voices of the players talking about stats, items, and macros down to a tee.

OMG that was hilarious!!! I'm surprised they were allowed to use company logos and in-game footage when depicting the game in a disparaging way--I guess the folks at Blizzard aren't just a bunch of suits and they have a sense of humor after all!

how the correlation was made
It wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard played a hand in making the episode...the in game footage was just too spot on and well orchestrated for it to have simply been the South Park crew playing in game and hitting the record button...some of the scenes smelled of cutscene goodness.OMG that was hilarious!!! casting time vs duration of the spell perhaps.
When you get a g/f you will understand.

Actually I was confused how you thought someone worried about inaccurate cast times would have a g/f.
