I am trying to find a picture of a piece of art I recently saw, but have no idea what the painting is called or who painted it. However, I have provided a few characterisitics I recall below.

The painting features ~8 goblin-like creatures where one (maybe two) of the creatures are in the front of the painting carrying a dead creature. The creature in the far background is staring off to where it is like his eyes follow you no matter where you go.

I have been told this painting is fairly famous and has appeared in numerous art magazines.

Anyone have a clue?

UPDATE:

I am told the piece is supposed to show "life to death" or something of that nature. Any ideas?

What style was it in, that would help alot in narrowing done what time period it came from and such?

EDIT: also, knowing where you saw it would help

I would suggest searching Salvator Dali's work. That seems right up his alley. Anyway, that was the first thought that came to mind.
