Sprint has a new plan for $30.00 for 300 day minutes and unlimited nights. They don't charge you anything to change you plan, so its a little more for your money. Your contract would start over if you change your plan most likely.

Uhh, I think you made a boo boo somewhere.

Sprint just changed all their rates (lowered em). However, to get them, you have to sign a new 1 year contract. I didn't want that, but I did anyways. I have a 300/unlimited plan for $30 a month. I think that is what you are refering to.

For those approaching the end of your contract, I wouldn't change. I'd wait, then do the "call and say you want to cancel bluff thing" and get a better, unpublished plan.

Also, there are some new, nice options. Unlimited vision for $10 a month (AWESOME!!!), unlimited (or is it 500?) PCS to PCS for $5 a month.

Oh yeah.
The plan I changed from was 350/3650 for $40 a month. I save $10, and I only lose 50 minutes. That, to me, is a good deal.

just dial *2, tell them you are thinking about cancelling because your plan is too expensive, and watch them add tons of features... the only reason i'd ever use sprint.

Shoot for:
35 for 500 anytime, 500 pcs to pcs, and 3000 off peak, nights/weekends starting @ 8.

Surprising to see people on anandtech talking about cruddy overpriced plans...

I did the retention plan thing about 6 months ago and got
650 anytime
3000 nights and weekends (nights start at 8:00pm)
no PCS to PCS (I only call my wife and friends) most of my friends use AT&T
for $35.99 a month.
Although I went hunting last weekend and in the mountains I was only able to use roaming while my friends with AT&T were getting full signal strength!!

Damn...

I got 750 day/week and 3000 nights and weekend for $40....
no PCStoPCS as usual.

They don't let me have any plan which is lower price than what I am paying ($39.99)

I called and said I wanted to cancel because my phone battery was dying, which is true, and it's cheaper just to get a new phone with a different company. They gave me a $180 credit but I had to sign up for a 1 year 300 anytime/unlimited n/w contract for $30/month which is fine by me. So basically I get the next 6 months free and then next year I'll do the same thing. Just have to buy a battery off of ebay for $15.

My plan use to be $49.99 for 1500 min. 500 day. 1000 night/weekends with the first incoming minute free. Month to Month, even got to pick my own phone # but NO Long distance!!!! (this was very good 5 yrs ago) Read on here 6 months ago to act like I might want to leave Sprint.... the rep threw what was called unpluished rates at me. Like everyone else I haggled with her. Finally got 350min day and 3000 night/weekend and free long distance. (did have to sign for yr.) Asked her if I could keep the first incoming minute free and she said she works here and they wont even offer that to the employees. It was a one time promotion. I bitched and said I've been a customer for at least five yrs. Well after about 5-10 min I got to keep it. All $29.99/month. I average about 10 incoming calls a day, over a month thats at least and extra 300 daytime min. So for anyone going to haggle push the 1st incoming free! They CAN offer it. The only downside I could have gotten that I didnt was my night time minutes start at 9:00pm. Again a little more haggling and you can get it to start at 8:00pm. I'll work on this when my yr. is up.
