I have my most important final 3 final courses comming up in regards to UNI. I need 85-90+ on these to get in and was considering going on some meds for my ADHD. So my question is how did it help you/make you worse and what are the main side effects?

I've heard stories where people get high off adderall :p
But ritalin generally makes you anti-social.

Adderal and Adderal RX are your best bet. Side effects if you Google it says you can become addicted but it?s not like its cocaine. Go look online for what adderal and adderal RX looks like before buying and memorize the pill markings/color/number written on it when buying. Dont buy any substitutes as they won?t be as strong. The Adderal RX takes effects in 10 mins whereas regular kicks in at 30. Dont be an idiot and sniff it either. 1 for 3 dollars or 2 for 5 dollars for 25 mg of RX around here. Another side effect is that you cannot sleep. If you take it at night, and depending on your body weight, you could end up awake for 6-8 hours straight no matter how hard you try to sleep. It does make you concentrate though.

DO not take pyrexia (if that?s how you spell it). That thing is subscription ONLY. If you take that and don?t have a subscription, it will mess you up bad. Your gonna turn very pale and have this feeling in your head for 24+ hours. Adderal is the only thing i know of in my area that kids take to study before exams and such such.

I was on ritalin for about 15 years and have now been on dexedrine for the last 3ish years because I wanted something that I only had to take once a day. I didn't start taking anything until I was in college. I went from a 1.3 GPA to a 3.9 GPA because I could pay attention in class and study without being distracted and having my mind wander all over. If you have not been taking it all along then you may not be any better off taking it this one time. It may take your body a little bit to get used to it. My advice is you either take it all the time or not at all.

It would be for a period of 4-6 months, than depending, I would continue it through Uni. Right now I always get side tracked by other things ect, can't keep concentrating ect.

I looked at adderall but at 5x the price for about the same effect I didn't think it was worth it.

6 years now. It really helps me concentrate on what I'm doing. Adderall is actually two drugs, a fast acting drug that lasts about 2 hours, and a longer drug that lasts up to 10 hours. I take it twice a day. Some of the side effects are sleep deprivation, and loss of appetite. Some times I eat a pill and don't eat until dinner because I'm so focused on my work.

There is extremely little out there on treatment in adults. I really don't think it would be much different though.

Well, that works out fine. If you have no libido then what do you care if you are impotent?

sick sick logic for someone going to University :p

?
I am not going to university. I said that I started taking ritalin when I was going to university 18 years ago.

I never liked this. When after high school, they pretty much said here's a prescription, good luck! I stopped taking stuff when I went to Uni. A hell of a lot harder for me but treatment of the problem seems to only focus on taking medication. I really do not like the idea of taking medication regularly for the rest of my life. The medications are stimulants, so the most common side effect is insomnia.

What about people with diabetes or asthma? Should they stop taking their medicine when they turn 18? Why is it that people seem to think that disorders that affect their brain are different?
