For those of you with modded X-Boxes

Planning on finally getting a modded box together and need some info. What are the network transfer speeds like from the Xbox to a networked PC drive when transfering game images, etc? I want to just put a smaller 40gig or something in the Xbox and then store whatever images won't fit on a network drive, but if the transfer times are sh!tty I'll just get a bigger drive for the Xbox. What you say?

my buddy tried to get an xvid chip in, the kind that screws in. Well after hours of effort, bios flashing, etc. his xbox mobo is shot (bios corrupted). he has to replace it (~80 dollars). I helped him for some time, it was an absolute mess.

I've got a modded XBOX with a Samsung DVD drive and a 250 GB hard drive. I'm glad I didn't go with a small HD. The transfer speeds over the network cable aren't bad; it's basically like transferring files from one PC to another over a LAN, but still...when you're talking about transferring several GB over a network cable, it can take some time. I'd go with at least an 80-120 GB drive, but preferrably a 160-200 GB. They fill up pretty quickly.
