For those of you who think all realtors are slackjawed idiots who don't deserve a paycheck...

Hello Mrs. JulesMaximus,

You've been in my thoughts. . .good thoughts and I want to express my appreciation for the terriffic job you did for us.

You stand out as one of the best qualified, most knowledgeable Realtors I have worked with. Your time that you spent understanding our needs, previewing and evaluating properties is greatly appreciated. Your integrity, availablility, guidance and expertise was invaluable. You exhibited the ultimate in professional service.

We are getting close to furnishing our condo. I'll let you know when we're settled; it will be great to see you and for you see the final product. The highchair was a blessing last week when we babysat for xxxx while oooo and yyyy vacationed in Hawaii.

All the best,
Happy client

The condo they bought is near downtown San Diego and cost over a million dollars.

Disclaimer-Names have been changed to protect the satisfied. 😀

I have to agree with this statement. I have known a couple of outstanding Realtors but the majority are almost useless except when it comes time to collect a check.

Our realtor did lots of work for us even when we were being picky or wishywashy. Can't say I regret paying her at all.

There are a number of cheapasses here who would rather dry used paper towels, wear their underwear for a week straight without washing, and shave shower water for use in the dishwasher, but I prefer to pay for services that I wouldn't want to do myself.

I guess the guy next to me hasn't gotten it yet. His house has been FSBO for 10 months now without any luck. Perhaps it's because he didn't have one person walkthrough his open house on Sunday?

Well even used car salesmen can screw people over and make them smile while they're taking it in the rear.

Looks like the case here.

-edit- apparently I don't know the difference between they're, there and their.

I agree completely. I just find it annoying when people lump all realtors into this category when there are some that are outstanding.

She represented the buyer here. They didn't pay her anything genius...

The biggest problem with Realty as a career is it is WAY to easy to get into the business and the profit potential is HUGE (at the moment...this is going to change) so it attracts a lot of useless people who don't really want to work who think they can make lots of money with little effort.

some guy i dont know on the internet stands up for his WIFE, a real-estate agent I also dont know, asserting that she is a capable real estate agent

on the other hand, I have met many people involved in real estate that seem incapable of even wiping their own asses

grats to your wife for being successful, but i still have very little respect for the profession

Exactly, and isnt being the most kowledgable realtor kind of like being the most considerate murder....even though they are considerate, they are still a murderer.

I work with realtors almost every day. While it's typical in my industry (mortgage) to secretly badmouth them as they are frequently difficult to work with, the reality is that (like everything else) some are superstars and some are losers. No worries though, the superstars get most of the business.
And you wanna sell your house without a realtor? Go ahead... I love the nightmare of a screwed-up deal because of an idiot FSBO seller who has no clue what he is doing but thinks he knows everything and thinks it's okay for him to push everyone in the transaction around. Because that's what they almost always look like (except for the rare experience FSBO seller). It is no secret that FSBO sellers are not trying to save themselves from realtor fees, but are greedy. Proof of this is that FSBO's are almost always priced above market.

My house was actually FSBO and if we didn't have a realtor on our side along with a lawyer I think we'd still be trying to figure things out. The sellers had no clue about most of the closing requirements.

It's rather refreshing to see somebody here who not only stands up for his wife but actually expresses pride publically for her achivements .

My wife and I just bought a house this summer. Our realtor was great. However, she was the 2nd one we contacted. The first (it's a small town) didn't even respond to us. I guess business must have been booming for her.

congrats to her!
That job, if done right, takes much time, effort and care, no matter what anyone says.
What a nice letter!

After looking at several apt in Boston with several realtors, I have concluded that a good realtor is very hard to find. Infact, I only have about 3 realtors of the top of my head that I have dealt with gracefully out of the 70 other that just pissed me off. Conclusion, realty is an oversaturated market that employs just about anyone who wants to do the job.

No but the seller has added that to the asking price of the house.

I'm sure you would still be trying to figure things out. In most non-realtor transactions, the only thing that keeps the seller on the straight-and-narrow is the buyer's lender.

Meh. One of the funniest (and most difficult) aspects of working in real estate is the number of people who think they know more than the doctor.
