I don't care what the FDA says, they're just out to make a buck anyways. I'm not drinking/eating anything with that substance in it. I used to drink some diet drinks...and never could figure out why I felt sick afterwords, until I started reading ingredients..

Yeah that's it. You felt sick and read an ingredient list on a can of soda, then randomly picked the ingredient that was the cause.

I'll think I'll go with the FDA's methods over yours.

I googled every single ingredient, and quit drinking it. Haven't felt that feeling since. I don't give two sh!ts what you do or who you trust...just posting my experience w/ diet sodas. The chemical in question was passed with hardly any testing in the 80's, much like Splenda was only a few years ago.

I typically don't look at the ingredients. All the sugar alternatives taste funny to me and leave an after taste.

Once again the government releases propaganda in order to jump in bed with Monsanto.

Are you sure the can you were drinking from wasn't simply focusing the signal from the NSA satellites into your brain?

I'm pretty sure that it's nothing new. It was never proven and people just rode the bandwagon.

Tastes good to me regardless.

As long as it causes me horrible migraines, I won't be ingesting any of it, carcinogen or not.

lol. that all you got? go search around, try "studies aspartame"(lots of hits), and read some information. aspartame doesn't affect everyone the same. there's many many articles both for aspartame, and against it. while you're at it, search for a list of migraine triggers. i've had that ailment my entire life, and only a few of the triggers on the list even affect me...some people..

So is the safest bet to avoid anything but regular or cane sugar?
And what about stuff like that KARO sucrose syrup. Is it bad because it's corn?

I don't pay attention to any of the conspiracy theories regarding artificial sweeteners. To me, it's the nasty taste of them. Do you people really think that aspertame/sucrolose/etc. tastes just like real sugar?

And anyway, I like water. I drink easily like a gallon of water a day.

I used to drink a bunch of diet sodas (like 2-3 20oz a day at work, then more at home) but I have completely cut it out of my diet.

I feel a lot better now and no longer crave any type of caffeine. I drink sodas only on the weekend, and if I do, it'll be with alcohol or just like 1 20oz or so, and only of diet sodas.

Also cutting out diet sodas has helped me lean up during my cutting cycle. It leaves you with a very full stomach when done drinking it and I would always feel bloated.

Water is all I drink now pretty much :)
