What would you do if your internet access was cut off to only a certain amount of websites such as those needed to aid you in doing your job, but things like ATOT and other sites were cut off? Would you be upset? If yes, why, if not, why?

Some sites, like ESPN, are cutoff, but if they went and cutoff most everything else, then I would be a lot more bored. ATOT at least gives me a few chuckles now and then.

yes, because sometimes I have nothing else to do....
and I've been more productive being away from the phone before and they get mad when I am not there ready to pick up. so I sit there waiting for calls and I surf. Sometimes there is nothing else to do... everyone at work in my dept. does some surfing. some more than others.. <----

haha

I was just told today that we are going to implement an intranet where most sites will not be reachable unless it has to do directly with our work such as doing activations and the such.

Upset, nah, bored, yes

Can an intranet be setup if the computers are in different parts of the state? It's not like we all share one big network connection or anything. Just remote desktop connections when if at all needed.

I'd connect to the wifi network in the next building over w/ my laptop and browse ATOT from there.

everything goes through a proxy server, they have total control right now
they can do whatever they want with regard to internet access

i think Supervisor's / Manager should do their job of managing people, corporations that rely on technology to babysit workers are going about it the wrong way

enough stuff is already blocked at my work (all gaming related sites) so this would probably be just one more thing to piss me off.
