For those of you who are issued laptops for work, are you guys allowed to use your own laptop/notebook? This is just out of curiosity.

I wouldn't know, but with my dad, they let him use his, but this put this sticker on it saying it is a personal item or something.

Yes, once I install their security and protocols package. But why would I want to do that when they GIVE me a laptop just for that?

I prefer to do the opposite, playing Dungeon Siege on my work laptop.

I'm assuming you mean for accessing the corporate intranet while at home? No, we're generally not allowed to do so, as we have firm laptops that are issued to us for such use. As someone else mentioned, doing otherwise could be an IT nightmare.

Nope. We'll, our IT guy has asked that we don't use our own equipment in the network. SO if I wanted to I could use my own laptop, bring to work even, but would have to find another internet access point (unsecured wireless, etc). And no VPNs or anything like that either to deal with.
