I have this spreadsheet with roughly 9,000 rows. Each row has a short phrase or few words, that needs to be translated into portuguese. This is my current project for work, but I have finals to study for. I will pay you $50 to complete the rest of this (i've already gotten to nearly line 1000).

All you have to do is copy whatever is in Cell A, have google translation translate it for you, then paste the translation into the corresponding cell B. If you do it by hand, it might take you a while. If you know a way to automate the process and can get it done in 5 minutes, the more power to you, you get $50 for 5 minutes of work. *THIS NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED BY WEDNESDAY at NOON EASTERN TIME.

I know the google translations won't be perfectly accurate, but that doesn't matter cause i'll go through and fix all the mistranslations later. It is highly important to make sure it corresponds to the appropriate cell, however.

PM me for more info.

That fee is quite low for the time you are asking to invest.
I'll do it for $1,000.

Do you work in China? You must if you think 50 bucks is acceptable and good pay for that.

I would do it myself for $1000. I'm doing a little thing called outsourcing. That $50 might be a sweet alternative to the guy who calls in sick at mcdonalds today, or the crack addict in need of some easy cash.

At 10 seconds per row, without breaks, this would take 25 hours to do. $2/hour with all breaks unpaid? No thanks, I think I'll go down to the docks today.

Wow.. assuming 10 seconds per translation and copy/paste time... 8000 cells remaining... that's 80,000 seconds or 22 hours. Unless someone can automate this.... well, good thought but not a good value!

Iono if you'd want the crack addict doing this for you. Could you trust it?

So you're willing to let a 16 year old who normally spends 40 hours a week making McNuggets, or a desperate crack addict, to do your work that your boss gave you? You think highly of your career...

Judging from the replies in this thread, outsourcing doesn't seem to be your strongpoint.

I wouldn't do that manually for any money. I'd script it for a couple hundred pounds, that's like $400.

Crack addicts don't own computers, at least anymore. I don't think I'd trust my professional work to a McDonalds employee.

The fee is still ridiculously low no matter who does it. Cutting and pasting 9000+ cells into and out of google is a lot of work, not including any issues that come up during the work. Any crack addict knows they can make an easy $50 by panhandling and picking up empty cans for deposit.

Not to criticize you too heavily, but you need to make the incentive a little more equal to the work you are requesting. I'm sure your boss is paying you plenty more than $2/hour to complete this "project" (seems like a data entry bitch job to me).

Good luck finding a sucker to do this for ya. :D
