For those of you that say LED flashlights are wimpy! (or move over Surefire Beast!)

That sux... it's violet.

404 nm centered to be specific. ;)

Depends on your display too. Most displays are really fubar when it comes to proper color set up. Anything less than 92 gamut pretty much is mush.

That's the problem with earlier single level lights. You need rechargeable cells and a pile of them!

A plethora of new LED lights are coming out that feature dimming so you use only the light you need and battery pack life is measured in days instead of minutes! :awe:

The L7 digital uses a specialized ni-cd pack, and while its good enough to provide the bright beam, it dies quickly. And the last 15 minutes are noticably weaker anyhow.
My uncle wanted me to have a nice xmas present, and while I appreciate the thought, it was not necessary.

Yes the L7 is quite old tech. Even the cheap Chinese (Fenix) lights have far outshined Surefire's eldest models by a long shot. I do like the construction and I have a 7 year old L4 that was given to me as a gift that's in a toolbox and gets tossed around (literally!) and the finish is holding up remarkably well.

Can I haz one for my key chain?

Sounds like something some of those filling stations do in the middle of nowhere! The craziest thing I've seen them have attached to the rest room key ring is a bent Cragar mag wheel! I mean come on! Other things - bricks, foot long pieces of Kindorff, Rzeppa (outside) constant velocity joint housing with spline, 1/2" link proof coil chain (about 15")...

dunno, but I love my Fenix LD10 and E01
I have a Fenix L2D and TLR-3 and love them both as well; I'd never buy a Maglite or similar flashlight again unless I didn't care for light quality that much.

Hope you're wearing goggles. ;)

Oh if $450 sounds expensive consider the Surefire Beast costs 10X that amount, runs on much more expensive batteries (non rechargeable) and has a lamp that burns out after a few 100 hours of use!
