Ok, I installed it fine and it works. Except I only connect at 33,600!
I installed the modem station that came on the CD with my modem
It has alot of features and one of em was Connection Rates.

It shows the max and min I can connect at. Right now it says 33,600 and thats the highest it says...

How do you all connect at higher rates?
I mean i was expecting at lest 44,000 here

It's mostly dependant on the quality of your phone lines. If that's all they can handle, that's all you're going to get. Generally, there isn't any magical setting that will allow you higher connect rates. It's almost never the modem's fault.

Make sure you're not running your lines through any kind of surge protection feature on a power strip/surge protector/UPS .. They can cut your rates bigtime ..

it might be that your line cannot support anything higher than 33.6
(i.e. you line is dirty as in noise pollution)

Eli, you serious about surge protectors? I'm running my phone line through a surge protector, sometimes I connect at 28,400, sometimes 31,200, sometimes at 49,333, and sometimes at 50,666. With my one ISP, depending on the access number I connect with, I always get either a 49,333 or 50,666. With the other numbers I never get better than a 31,200. With my other ISP's I usually get a 50,666, but sometimes I'll get a 28,400 connection.

I think it's more the time of day you're connecting, and the access number you're using. The surge protector seems to have nothing to do with my connection speed.

I don't know, it's just a thought..... -kd5-
