I'm want to try some new fishes but I don't know which ones to pick...I buy'em at the store and prep them myself b/c eating sashimi at a japanese restaurant is too damn expensive.

anyway, what kinds do you guys enjoy?

-Eric

edit: my regulars include tuna & salmon (alaskan salmon is really good...expensive, but yum)...so I'm looking for something new :)

be careful when you prep it yourself. If you do it wrong, you can get a stomach ache.

I am...distinctly aware of this...lol.

Nah I've been okay so far but my dad had a run-in once. I learned how to do it from him.

Tuna is pretty weird...very fishy and kinda jellowy...I like it but salmon is more widespread.

I suggest expermenting at a sushi bar to find your favorites.

Sushi at home is expensive also, and just is not the same, imo, as going to the sushi bar.

Now you got me craving sushi!

Tuna
Albacore
Salmon
Yellowtail
Freshwater Eel (cooked, however)
Sea Bass

Those are my faves. Others I eat occasionally just for variety:

Octapus
Mackerel
Sea Scallops (usually cooked)
Baked Green Mussel (obviously cooked, too)
