I use toothpaste for any sort of glass/porcelain surface since they are similar enough to your teeth's enamel. Fairly safe for humans and it does not still to hell; minty in fact :)

Hire a housekeeper/maid/cleaning service...Once per week, eery 2 weeks, once per month, whatever your budget will allow...

Yet another reason Americans are becoming such lard asses... they can't even expend the energy to clean up after themselves.

Actually asshat, my wife and I are both disabled, so having a housekeeper come in every 2 weeks makes a big difference for us. We do the normal day to day stuff, so we don't live like pigs, but cleaning bathrooms and moving furniture is more than we can do easily. Also, many people work a ton of hours every week, and having someone come in to do housekeeping frees them up to have a life outside work and housecleaning.

My wife cleans our 3 bathrooms every few days. She uses Clorox wipes. If you keep it up, it's not that hard to clean. You might have to use steel wool if it gets too bad.

90-98% pure hydrogen peroxide. That should clean the mold off. And it'll probably eat through just about any finish on the material you're cleaning, as well as the skin on your hands. But you won't have mold anymore.

Just be careful of what cleaner you use on which surfaces. Some finishes don't take kindly to harsh cleaners or abrasives.

I use a combo of several super cheap cleaners from the dollar store about once a month combined with some AJAX and a rough sponge on the tub. I usually spray the cleaners all over the place and let them sit for a while then come back with the AJAX and sponge and scrub for a few minutes.

Any tips on a product you guys use that works effectively?

My roommates never cleaned their bathroom for two years. I had to clean it after they moved out. Used Scrubbing Bubbles and a sponge. The main thing is you have to use a lot of elbow grease and time. For soap scum though, I think Comet works a lot better. I use it to clean off my razor and it just dissolves the soap away unlike Scrubbing Bubbles. Don't know about excessive mold though. Most cleaning products will get rid of mild mold and mildew but I don't know about a huge buildup. Basically though, just keep at it.

Or do the bleach soak as recommended by Trajan. Dilute it to at least 1:4, though.

Is the mold in the caulk around the bathtub/sink? If so, it'll never go away completely without digging the ould stuff out and recaulking.

Before anyone else has a chance: Yes, I said "caulk"

Yes, bleach does wonders. Now if only there where a way to make it thick, so you could apply it to walls etc, without it running down right away.

I've used the clorox gel toilet cleaner for just that purpose before. It did the trick.

I clean it every week, takes about 20 min. It's not that difficult folks. You can use that white powder cleanser to scrub stuff, and use a spray bottle type of cleaner everything else. You don't really need any particular name brand as it's all essentially the same. I usually spray down the shower with cleaner first, then do everything else, and get back to the shower (lets it soak). And use paper towels, any cloth or sponge would then need to be cleaned/disinfected.

My preferred cleanser is a small amount of bleach, half a cup of liquid laundry detergent, mixed with warm water. This cleans very well and is cheap. It would be a good idea to wear rubber gloves to prevent drying out and hurting your hands.

This does not require a lot of bleach but for extreme dirt, you may wish to add a little more.
