There's a really nice new roundup of HSF's over at HardOCP... Link here

Looks like the Thermalright SK6 is the best performer overall. Even beat the Thermoengine!

Just thought some of you might be interested :)

Yeah :( I was thinking of trying one out, with that Sunon 26 CFM one. I would have liked to have seen how it would have fared

Not an official test, but I just replaced my no-name heatsink fan on my AMD 1333G with the SK6 / 26CFM Sunon fan and dropped my CPU temp down from 58-62C to 48-52C.

A side note for you people who want something with a delta38 on it.

Don't bother unless you don't mind vacuum noises. This thing is loud. Even at 7v I found it too loud.

5v is just bearable.. :) I invited my mother to my room to hear it and she started laughing.

I think mikewarrior has repeatedly pointed out that hardOCP heatsink tests are some of the most innacurate around... especially since the reviewer insists on basing results with the onboard thermistor.

hmm

i think his results are pretty consistent w/ other reviews.

the sk6 is clearly better than the thermoengine.

And others also use Socket-thermistors.

And he fails to include other high performance units in his tests.

And his test resutls change from month to month... some heatsinks go up in temp, others go down. How can the compariosons be considered seriously when one months results will invalidate another months.

well wouldn't room temperature have alot to do with it? my CPU used to run at 25c loaded in feburary.....not i'm getting temps more like 40.......gee, i dont' notice a slight difference there.... i havne't been there so i havne't read the review, and he may be in a controlled invironment, but that was my first reaction to your statement....but yeah, don't use on board thermoisters......

mrcide - heh, why'd your mom have to come in, couldn't she hear it all the way at the other side of the hosue!?
