The main benefit of ClearType only works on LCDs, but some people claim it also works on AG CRTs. MS probably snuck in other features under the "ClearType" label though.

I have tried it on my Viewsonic VA520 (it's an LCD), and I personally do not like it. Yes, it looks nice, but I don't like how the sub-pixels are exaggerated when I highlight text. It looks weird having a red, blue, or green outline around the white, when surrounded by black.

yeap.. i use it on both my LCD and my CRT... i think it looks much better and is easier to read.. though most of my friends think otherwise..

i supppose its just personal preference.

When I first tried it on my CRT I didn't like it and went back to the standard type. Then, after getting a laptop and getting used to it there I decided to try it again on my CRT. So, short answer, yes, I now use it on my A90f.
