For those like Peter did Christ, who are thinking of denying Trump thrice...

I'm starting to feel not only Republican politicians but people who have expended a great deal of energy supporting Donald Trump will soon as in the Bible passage deny him thrice.

I'll call them super deplorables. People who have given up all sense of decency, morality and reality in the blind support of Donald Trump. He has caused this country to spiral out of control. People are dying, domestic terrorism in on the rise, racism has been fueled. Dog whistle be damned it is a dog bullhorn.

Norms have been shattered, laws have been broken, record numbers of arrest, indictments and people sent to prison from his administration and campaign. False enemies have been created out of nothing while real enemies are ignored or openly encouraged by Trump. Around the world allies are alienated while we cozy up to dictators.

I have a message for all you people who will now try to portray themselves as some sort of decent human being. It's too late. You've made your choice to side the lawless, corrupt, immoral, racist, anti-Semitic, congenital liar. Any negative epithet you can think of can be applied to Trump. He has degraded and debased the office of President. You decided to treat Trump ;like Catholics treat the Pope as an infallible deity. Not a knock against Catholics it is their religion and they should be free to practice it as they see fit as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. Super deplorables have elevated Trump to the level of a Pope who very word is never to be questioned.

This country has gone down the toilet and you super deplorables are responsible. You have made your tub of vile so now you can soak in it for the rest of your lives.

You had plenty changes to "see the light". I suspect most of you intentionally didn't for some unknown reason. I have a friend who was a Trump supporter. More accurately a lifelong Republican. A bunch of us were out the weekend after Charlottesville. I tried then to impress upon her how bad this guy is. She made every excuse for him you have heard and ended with "He didn't mean it". She finally woke up after George Floyd. She called me to apologize about her past support for him and acknowledged his racism. She also said "I now understand why BLM is necessary today" I appreciated that because it was genuine. She will be voting for Biden this fall.

You people have treated Trump like Jesus and you can't absolve your past by denying him thrice. It's too late.

End of rant

Not everyone can be taught, but maybe enough can. If not, we don't deserve the fantasy we've been foisting upon the world.

One of the fears I have is that IF Biden wins and the Dems take Congress, Biden will repeatedly dilute Democratic initiatives just to seek bipartisanship with these scumbags that supported Trump every step of the way these last years. I'm talking about folks that vote for him this time around, and pretty much every Republican politician in office not named Romney or Murkowski. I mean if they want to come onboard with some things by all means welcome them, but if they want to seek lots of compromise to get them onboard, seriously, tell them to eat shit. Fuck these people.

We have a few Trumpers like this at work, 1st and foremost they NEVER watch anything but Fox, then you
hear the same exact thing every time, "Oh, that's just Trump being Trump, he's not a normal politician". Yea, right,
like when he mob-called the Ukraine President trying to force a fake Biden investigation, as if that's the same as some off the wall tweet. This week has been crickets, Trump's roid-fueled stupidity has them totally silent, they now realize the end is near.

FYI, Judas was the one betrayed Jesus to the Sanhedrin. Peter denied knowing Jesus three times after the arrest of Jesus. He also became the first Pope and was then crucified by Nero. Also, Catholics don't treat the Pope as a deity, nor is just anything a Pope says considered infallible.

Otherwise - there are a lot of people I know that I will never take seriously again knowing how they have deluded themselves.

super deplorables
IMHO, the super-deplorables are Corporations and the Wealthy. They are also the ones who promoted policies and philosophies that turned decent American citizens into the rabble now rounded up under the GOP banner. What is it to gain everything but lose you own soul? Those marionettists have divided this country and wrought forth a hellish culture simply to line their pockets as the princes of old. I don't feel like the moniker 'social democrat' fits me, but they certainly are right about this!

That worries me as well. Biden is an old institutional guy. However, he must know if he goes that route because of the number of people who stuck their neck out for him he would immediately doom Democrats for the future.

Long time lurker, first post. Biden was too nice, stopping negative ads, trump would not return the favor. Hit trump hard and hit him low. Don't give this covidiot any cover.

5 years not bad!
I hear crickets too. I started back with a very conservative company, but nobody has the balls to say anything out loud about this shitstain.
One of the guys brought him up and I handled it thusly:
I said, I never liked the guy since the 80's when he came to my attention. Big blowhard, creepy with the pageants, just not anybody I cared about.
I don't have to talk about him with that guy, at least, and I tried to keep politics out of it.

Now that I have that first post out of the way, I'll probably never shut up. lol. My boss is a die-hard trump supporter, also believes in chem trails, etc. Yet he seems to be able to temper that when it comes to business. He pays above livable wages to us workers, but just has an unbelievable hatred to Democrats. Listens to hannity as if he was Walter Cronkite.

My GF is a big trumpie, as most here already know after she found me logged in one day and started to troll under Tenacious Teez, ANYWAYS, she will not believe anything I tell her about his history and like Skyking, I had been reading about trump since at least the 90s and knew he was a con man and shafted his contractors and many went out of business because of him.

For some folks the alternative for voting for Trump is everything that Trump, Hannity and those other liars over there at FOX, Rove, Limbaugh and every other propaganda outlet for the GOP says about those spooky commie socialists that will cause the nation to crash and burn into ashes and cause the gates of Hell to open in the middle of America and swallow the nation into it's bowels, just like they say every time a presidential election comes around yet never ever happens. Do the rank and file Repubs take notice of that? Hell no, it would be humiliating for them to admit that their prophecies of doom and gloom being a no show every time they predict it so those same ominous predictions gets stashed away waiting for the next elections to come around and wad'da ya know, those very same horror stories gets dragged out all over again.

Instead, the Dems have always had to clean up the mess left behind by the Repubs taking over the gov't and causing the very chaos they say the Dems would create. Just look at the mess Obama had to clean up after the Bush/Cheney cabal got their chance at draining the economy dry for the benefit of their wealthy enablers and now hopefully Biden is going to have to clean up the mess that some would say Trump and his henchmen are purposely causing in order to pin it on Biden and the Dems should he/they win in November.

edit - It's slash and burn everything to the ground leaving the Dems nothing much to build upon, especially when it comes to salvaging the remnants of the ACA and other Social Safety Net programs that the Repubs have been hacking away at while they've had the chance.

Apt comparison

But the President will never forgive them as Jesus forgave Judas & Peter
The President is like every parable involving a rich man.

Easier to pass a camel thru a pin hole than rich man to be admitted to heaven. Not impossible but super difficult

The parable that I can’t remember where the rich man is in hell (or not in heaven) and asks but really orders his vineyard worker to bring him a divine drop of water from heaven.

I don't think America has gone in the toilet at all. Most of the country does not support Trump, or the GOP. The US is still a hotbed of innovative companies and research, wealthy with a good standard of living.

Trump sure has proven that's it's on a knife's edge though. The GOP is an extremist group, radicalizing its base.

Maybe the best way to deal with it, is to crush them in elections and keep them out of power legitimately through elections. Hoping that forces them to come back to sanity in order to win elections again.

They seem hellbent against it though. Unwilling to back off their radical positions, instead resorting to cheating in elections and instituting minority rule. That is just not sustainable with the way demographics are shifting in America. Eventually I think that leads to violence. Better to crush them in elections, eliminate the way they cheat with voter suppression and gerrymandering, force them to return to reality or be relegated to obscurity.

While I see your point there are 212,000 people who don't get a second chance.
And someone has to be responsible for that. There has to be fault, blame, and retribution.
On top of that, there are perhaps millions more facing ruin, the absolute despair of losing what little they have. Who's responsible for those folks? Who gets that blame? Do we go to where it started, or where it ends?

We get started by using a consistent mask and consistent gathering rules. Aided by fast, consistent and ideally free easily available testing with results within 24 hours, the faster the result the better.
We have a consistent plan to help businesses, renters and landlords pay their debts. We assist any business including big business when and where it makes sense. Big cruise industry bailout doesn’t make much sense, big airline bail out kind of makes sense but it needs benchmarks, and goals attached to it as in to get x amount you need to keep lay-offs under y amount or this money may be used for this and only this.
We could use the Presidents war powers authority to order production of basic staples and waive copyrights.
We could honestly agree upon payments to tax payers and ideally everyone and tolerate some shenanigans but not get held up by minutia like whose name is on the fucking check. Write US Gov on all checks.
We could have all elected representatives using the same language regarding gatherings, masks, what is risky and what the general goal is.

Pass it onto her that I along with other people of color find that having a President of the United States being a card carrying racist is of great concern to us. Should not have to explain why.

I have this thought as well - but you have to remember too that the buck doesn't stop at the Oval Office. If the Dems take Congress, there are members of the house and the Senate that have fought against these Trump enablers for years now. I think they will be less forgiving and extend fewer olive branches to the GOPers than the oval office may be willing to consider.

I'm also not entirely against the dems winning the house and senate and Trump still being in office. It would be horrible for the country, but it would be fun watching Trump being completely kneecapped and virtually a paper president.

Honestly we need some level of compromise. Hopefully the Senate is taken and filibuster eliminated. Yeah I know there will be pain at some later date but that pain brings accountability with it. Want to over turn ACA, go for it and then explain why you did it.
After a few losses I would assume even the most hardcore no compromise guys would find compromise. Hard to be a law maker who sits on the sidelines for everything.
