I would never run a filter for that long. I change mine at least every 5k miles.

I had over 10k on a supertech (E-Core) and cut it open and was fine. Had many other close to 10k as well and never any problems.

What problems are there?

My supertech was in full bypass after 6k and my mobil1 was in full bypass after ~4k. To me, the extra cheap insurance isn't worth losing an entire motor over a $2 filter.

Is this stuff even good? Oil/filter??? I've never even heard of that oil. I usually just go to Walmart, buy a 5 quart Mobil 1 and K&N filter which all comes out to about $30.

Kendall is part of Conoco Phillips. So their oil is labeled under Motorcraft as well as Kendall and other names. They also have 76 gas, phillips66, etc...

That and I checked out the talk at BITOG and it seems good there as well.

So I will get some for the Corvette and other cars I have that use Syn.

Ok I guess I'll jump on it then. $20 for a full synthetic oil change is cheap. I just want to keep the high quality stuff to keep my turbo going for a long time.

Gah, went to Pepboys and of course the only filter they were out of was the one I needed. Tried to get them to substitute but no go. Oh well.

and gillbot, i normally do my mobil 1 synthetic oil changes every 9k-10k miles, which is when my maintenence minder tells me to do it and i haven't ran into any problems yet...

I change my oil every 7500-10k as well, but I still change the filter every 3k or so.
