For those doing thanksgiving alone

What are you doing? My family is ~800 miles away, and I'm single. I was thinking about making a whole bird and having turkey for weeks (I could seriously eat turkey every day, the drier the better), but making a turkey core (just the breast meat) would be much faster and cheaper.

I'm having turkey one way or another. What about you?

Maybe you could get a Thanksgiving day OT meet? Get a few together, cook the bird, watch the games.

I woulda invited you over, but you aren't near Boston 😉

Consider volunteering at a Salvation Army Thanksgiving supper or similar. There's another group here that does one each year, some poor people, some singles, lot of elderly folks who don't get out much. (They need a lot of volunteer drivers for them) Get to have turkey with others and go home with a heart swelled up as big as your stomach. And you don't have to wash pans.

That's a good idea. I'm not sure what my schedule is on Thursday, I may have to work all day, but at least from 12am-6am.

There aren't many people from Anandtech here in BFE, Indiana. 🙂

I'm going to cook a delicious meal and buy beer for the men of my house, then after serving them I am going to go off to work to leave them in peace to watch football games.

Heh, thanks. I figure some turkey and football will make the day fun. Besides, next year I'll be with my family.
