Lack of sidebar is one of my biggest peeves with Win7. They took away functionality, and added nothing.

Weather, stocks, multiwoot and coconutview (axis cam viewer for our office camera).
I don't use the sidebar itself though, I have gadgets floating on desktop with sidebar closed. A lot of people don't realize you can do this with Vista, it's better done in 7.

They did, but that doesn't work well for me. I like being able to maximize a window, and still see my gadgets. As Loup stated above, I could already free float gadgets with Vista, no sidebar is a deal killer.
