Oh CAD, you wrote this for them. Lovely piece of brainwashing drivel and excuse for a miserable Economy:

There is also the reality that many jobs have been exported to other countries for economic reasons. These moves have allowed many companies to maintain a small, central core of people, and employ others on an as needed basis.

The down side to this is that with each passing day fewer and fewer companies are offering secure full-time employment.

The up side is that freelancers, folks interested in part-time work and consultants are jumping up and down in a gold mine. Actually this new wave of working is increasing each day and it allows more flexibility for living and it is becoming much easier to balance work and family with this new arrangement.
----------------------
Part time less than $10 hr is supposed to be a gold mine and have people jumping up and down? Please what rubbish
rolleye.gif

----------------------

In today's world of globalization and high technology, we have to become the creators of our own "good jobs."

---------------------
The idiot just said the only work is part-time, that's supposed to be "good jobs"?
rolleye.gif

Check back with your former employer and see if there are things that he now out-sources that you can do as a freelancer or a consultant.
----------------------
Sure, do the same job for a fraction of the pay and no benefits.
rolleye.gif
:|

You mentioned the words "depressed" and "frightening" in your correspondence. Both of those words are detrimental to existence. Replace both by doing whatever is necessary to remove them from your vocabulary and your life.
-------------------
There goes the brainwashing drivel again. The Economy is fine, it's all your fault, it's all in your head that there is only part-time jobs out there and you will have no insurance.

Thank You Sir May I Have Another

I think you missed two vital points he made.

? Keep in mind that whatever your situation in life is at this time is just that, a "situation," and does not speak to who and what you are but more about what is happening to you at this time.

? Make a mental commitment that you have everything that it takes to overcome this situation. And confront "fear" and "depression" head-on and see both for what they're worth.

Oh well, no one can say I didn't try to help you.:) Your situation and attitude fits this to a tee. Your negativity has consumed you dave - it's time you once again recommit yourself to optimism and self-reliance.

CkG

BTW- "benefits" are just that dave - benefits. They are not required to be OFFERED by companies. You aren't entitled to "benefits".

That's right, the New American Way, to wipe out an entire family and all their years of hard work when a member of the family may happen to get sick. How lovely.

Or businesses could continue to over-pay their employees, run into dept, and go into bankruptcy... good plan. Get real, Dave.

Obviously, the difference being that you started a thread with the single intention to attack another member. Maybe if you'd follow the rules a little more closely people would be willing to hire your sorry ass. ;)

I was typing a reply and it dissapeared, not just a lock, wow. Rare to see a thread do a magic trick like that.
Guess it struck a mod nerve, eh?

So did you vote to hire yourself? it was about a dead even tie at last check. You've got your followers and detractors, like any madman ;)

I'm not quite sure how it would be considered an attack? I didn't say anything bad, just a poll.

I have no problems getting hired. Never have, usually it's choosing between multiple offers.

Actually I voted No. I am working hard on working for myself and hopefully someday be even called a large Corporation, but I assure you I would play fair and treat my employees with the most respect HUMANLY possible. If that's being a "Madman" I'll gladly wear that hat.

I didn't consider it an attack and I didn't even pay any attention to who started the thread. Was it your thread Alchemize?

I dislike Bush about as much as anyone here, but if the "jobs" issue is the best the democrats are gonna be able to do in terms of attacking Bush, I am afraid it will be another 4 years with this bozo. The unemployment rate in the US is fantastic when compared to the rest of the world. The only reason Bush is attacked on this front is because unemployment was ridiculously low when he came to office.

If the dems want to attack Bush maybe they can start with the following:

1) greatest disparity btw rich and poor in the world (interesting example is that the ratio btw employee and CEO is the greatest in the world by a factor of more than 10X - sorry no link...). This may not play as well as jobs, but it is certainly more valid.
2) massive debt/deficit - mind you, I'd like to know to whom the majority of this is owed: if it is to US citizens, then it is a smaller issue...
3) US standing in the world community at an all-time low - this is quite serious and is a result of Bush's irresponsible and incompetent foriegn policy
4) Bush is dumb - however, he is not too dumb to realize this and has surrounded himself with some pretty sharp tools

Edit: sorry to be a bit off topic... who am I kidding - I am not sorry at all... ;)

Jobs have never been secure. Times have changed Dave and people have two choices: change with them and survive or become like you and perish.

That's because the Mods are his friends. He will deny it, but with each denial it is just more proof that they watch out for him.

Yeah it's all a big liberal conspiracy. I'm taking notes and will soon spectacularly unveil my heretical findings.

1) May not be a good tactic to take considering Kerry's fortune and wife. He can try to play the common man but his many houses etc. won't support that ploy.
2) The debt/deficit is a concern but running a deficit is normal in economic downturns. If the economy continues to grow than this will less of an issue.
3) yeah, the US is the evil ogre. Heard it before,
4) I didn't think anyone was stupid enough to still believe that democratic election ploy. I learn something new every day.
