I am currently working with a Dell Poweredge server with Windows NT 4.0. It was working fine until a power outage shut it down, and on a reboot it said that the NT kernal was corrupt. So naturally I did a repair installation of NT, and then the computer would restart itself every time when it came to the WinNT opening blue splash screen on bootup. It kept restarting itself (in a loop), so I did an upgrade installation to the entire operating system. The problem remained exactly the same. This computer has important data on it that is not backed up. It has 3 SCSI hard drives and 2 SCSI cdrom drives. Any help? Thanks.

1. Download and run the latest Dell diagnostics program (if you can).
2. Post results here
3. Call Dell tech support with results.

this is what i did when i had an almost similar prob when it kept rebooting itself when starting win2000.

If u have a spare partition .. install a new copy of the OS there with the same admin password n users n password. You may be able to read into the unbootable ntfs partition to back up your data. That was what i did.
