ok this is really making me mad. i have been through multiple formats, multiple operating systems (2k, xp) and my computer randomly reboots when it feels like. Listen to this: I EVEN UNTICKED THE OPTION in startup that says "automatically reboot computer" But it reboots anyway!!!

this is the error i get in event viewer. it happens several times a day. i am using win2k sp2 with all updates from microsoft update page. latest directx. ive tried different detonator drivers all i will just be opening a program or browsing the web and BAM it reboots

souce: save dump
event 1001

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini092601-02.dmp.

someone please explain save dumps to me!! i want to fix this ASAP !!!

And another question, could a bad powersupply cause this? Im using a 300w that came with my antec case

also could the io voltage and core voltage have anything to do with this? they are both set to "cpu default"... the cpu idel temp is 40C and system temp is 27C

I am so clueless. i just wanna get rid of this savedump problem

please help specs in sig. no overclocking.

Win2K will dump the contents of RAM to the hard drive in the event of a BSOD, so that the dump can be used for diagnosis of problems later. Generally very few people actually bother checking the dumps; the BSODs themselves are often the best source of information to track down errors.

Do you have the latest drivers for all of your hardware? Everything is seated correctly? Check that all your RAM, along with the Power supply, has no problems.

i was able to reproduce the following error 3 times in a row.

step 1 bootup
step 2 load winamp, play song
step 3 load internet explorer. as soon as i hit FAVORITES i got this blue screen:

stop kmode exception not handled. adress 80451031 base at 80400000 datestamp 3ad7ac60 - ntoskrnl.exe

beggining dump of physical memory

someone help 🙁

My roomate's PC with WIN2K did the exact same thing. It turned out that he had too many peripherals on his PC for his PSU to handle. He only had a 250W. He upgraded to a 350W and he never had the problem again. That could be an idea for ya.
