My kids do that to my desktop displays, my laptop AND my TV screens. Makes me want to boot them out the freakin' window. Nothing like having streaks/prints/etc screwing up my internet porn...

It's the impact that bothers me more than anything. LCDs have soft fronts. Poking them can damage them. There's a Dilbert on this topic, I have it hanging in my office. People seem to have gotten the hint.

Everything I've ever read regarding cleaning LCD's has said NOT to use that.

Right, just use a clean soft rag with some water sprayed on the rag. Not glass cleaner.

While I mnow it's fairly safe to touch an LCD screen (people at work jabbed them with pens to "point" and they still worked), I hate it. I have the biggest and nicest monitor in the house and I use to let people use my monitor to view vacation photos (also have card readers built in)... well, not anymore. Last year, relatives came and raped my screen but I was too "polite" to say anything about it. Ruined it for everyone else;).

I usually freak out if someone even gets close to touching my screen, the only time I will refrain is when it's my boss or someone higher up than me at work ;)

My dad touched my LCD screen, to see if "this is the one that does the wave thing." I told him before he touched it that it was, but he had to be sure. He also points at things. Since my mom bought the monitor, I cant complain much, but I would still prefer to keep it fresh.

He played AoE3 on it once. My dad smokes and coughs a lot...phlegmy coughs. Argh...
