For the future: How do I contact the "mod on duty" and not just any mod who's currently active if the thread is locked?

Moderators share the PMs coming into the Anandtech Moderator account, do they not? So that is not an adequate way to contact the moderator you have a question for.

I had already tried asking the question in the forums, but it was seen as a continuation of the previously locked topic (Which it was not). Is it against the rules to ask what the rules are? I had no way to PM a specific moderator, and I wanted to ask a specific moderator a question. He answered in my post, but it was locked. I didn't understand the answer (What are "the Private Topics" for instance?), but I couldn't ask what he meant because it was locked (Shouldn't the question remain unlocked for clarification for myself and others?). Moderators can make replies without locking a thread can't they? ;)

In the moderator's interest, and not wishing to continue the cycle of locked posts, I didn't make another post seeking clarification. Instead, I made a thread asking how I could contact a certain moderator privately (because I didn't want to make another post asking about a certain banned topic for him to lock), but when posted, I already had a PM so I edited out the content. Is that against the rules too? I was threatened about "taking a vacation" because he/she obviously misinterpreted the "Delete me" topic and "Nevermind" post content as meaning that I had repeated my previous question or defied the moderator... NONE of which I had done! The post's previous content was a contact request only!

I was not a trouble maker. I was first asking if a topic was allowable and second asking for contact. Nothing more.

that is how it works, you can pm the mods as a group or post in forum issues
you can't talk to a specific moderator in private unless you know what their non-moderator screen name is

BTW , isn't this a "forum issue" ?

PM'ing the mods won't help if the moderator who locked your threads is moderating from his personal user account and not from the official moderator account.
