I called tech support. Set a new record for me though :)

Turns out my ISP got bought out by a larger company. So all of a sudden, my service stopped. After two days of trying everything I knew. (You never realize how much life sucks without the internet until you don't have it :brokenheart: ). Anyway, got my new UName\PWord.

I must admit though, even in 1000 years, I could not have solved this myself.

I almost called Comcast today. Got home and the internet wasn't working. I tried everything, restoring the spyware I just removed, resetting modem, using winsock fix, etc, etc. Turns out that the culprit was XP SP2 that I installed yesterday. Not installing that pos again. Auto Updates - off!

I called customer support a couple days ago but only because Frances was being naughty and disabled all the cable in my area...and I was too curious as to when I could get back online...

It was very odd. IE wouldn't work, Steam would still connect to the internet and show me server stats but when I tried to connect to a server, my computer would freeze up. Mercora would sign on once or twice every-other time I restarted. So I finally uninstalled SP2 when I was out of ideas, and lo and behold. It works.

I tried that, but that big yellowish white circle in the sky hurt my eyes too much. :D

Mine too.

I'm a little upset that they're offering new customers a 29.99 rate to sign up, but my speed is definitely better.
