sad when you have to report you didn't have a riot

It's more sad that people shape their opinions about something without having any knowledge of it.

sad you have to be on the offensive to defend your city

I see nothing wrong with furthering good news when the perception is the opposite of reality.

How long did you live there?

Bye bye Detroit... Nice knowing ya.

God help them if they win any more world championships. Any more destruction and population loss and we'll see Mad Max and his cronies show up thinking they've found paradise. :p

Your final statement just goes to show how little you actually know about anything.

I've been to NO too, but Detroit is BIG. NO is small compared.

You don't know ghetto until you've seen it in it's "population 5 million" version.

Bah....all you haters....yea Detroit has it's problems but it's not as horrendous as people like to stereotype. I was walking around downtown half the night with 2 of my friends. The atmosphere was electric, everyone was happy, celebrating going nuts, it wasnt about stealing or anything like that.

It was just about celebrating something we haven't had in years.

I've been to Detroit a gazillion times for sports and concerts. Nothing but good times IMHO.

Why would they riot just for making it to the world series? Now if they win it, well, for the city's sake you better hope they don't win... :p

Hooray for exaggerations and stereotypes!

There are actually tons of really great cultural places, musical scenes, and of course, sports in Detroit. Your loss if you never have a chance to check them out, but would rather bash it.

I lived in Detroit for 3 years and would never go back. Hell, do people actually LIVE in Detroit? Everyone I knew when I lived in Detroit lived in the suburb. People only went to Detroit for work or a Red Wing games or a concert and then high hailed the way out of there.
