There was a less jovial device like this that did the same thing, only it was worn on the ear and meant for driving. It has mercury tip switches that would sound a buzzer in your ear if you head started to lean forward too much. Meant for driving.
 
I need something to keep me awake for class. I'm thinking of one morning class in particular.. If I handed a few of these out at the door, by about 20 minutes into the lecture those who were awake wouldn't be able to hear over the quacking. 🙂 Now, maybe if it had a built-in low-power tazer or something, that might do the trick!
