About $150,000 /year. That's not counting extra income.

not $150,000 USD right?

number 1 player in the world a couple yrs back was from Canada. His handle was Grrr or something like that. 2 r's 3 r's? I forgot.

He went to Korea to play in the tourneys there. He earned $100,000 USD. USD. U..S...D from one year.

He went back to Canada, and rumor has it that he knocked up a hot korean chick, which became his GF, and uses the money (rumor was approx $500k in total earnings) for his college education.

USD indeed. SC has become a professional sports. There're two game cable channels mainly broadcasting SC. There are about 7 teams where they stay in a dorm to practice SC. Also, there are leagues that are funded by major cooperations such as Panasonic, CocaCola, Gillette and such. The most famous player 'Slayers_Boxer' has 560,000 people registered in his fan club. When they held a team league at the beach, 100,000 people gathered to see the game. It's quite a big business in Korea and it is still expanding.

Yup, it was Grr... He is no longer playing in Korea. He used to No.1 when SC league first started long time ago(4-5 years ago). However, things changed rapidly and almost all the other players started to outperform him. He did some modeling afterward as well as starting his own internet based business. As you said, he also dated his hot Korean chick.

No doubt about it. I've been playing that game ever since it came out and it's still damn fun. There're still new moves, and strageties coming out. Quite amazing when I think about how old this game is. 7 years, isn't it?

yup, i remember when i got it in grade 8 in the June of 98, it was freaking awesome, staying up till three every weekend, and it had that call in thing, where you use your modem and call in to direct connect to a friends computer (we were the only 2 people from school to have that game) and we would be calling each other untill 3 playing like 6 comps, it was crazy

I spent way too much time watching all the old VODs and broadcasts. It's been a few years now, but those... those were good times.
