Since the socket 754 is single channel as oppose to the 939 dual channel is it better to push for higher mhz on the memory or to get tighter timings?

I'm currently running ballistix at ddr 500 2.5-2-2-10 and wondering if its worthwhile to losen the timings and try and get higher mhz out of it. i've got the Epox 8KDA3J mobo with the nforce 3 250gb chipset. I have read that with the 939 boards it's best to hit tighter timings because the dual channel provides pletny of bandwith to the proc. Whats the case with the 754 setups like mine? I'm pulling just a shade under 4000 in Sandras Memory Bandwith benchmark with my current setup.

Check this link out:
http://www.deep-powder.net/OC_...Overclocking_Guide.htm

Click on the "change to Advanced user table of contents" in the top left corner and then scroll down the contents to results. Under results there is a post on "the effects of memory settings on OC". As it is said in there probably the best way to find the answer to ur question would be to benchmark using the different settings and finding which one is better for u.....
