Young entrepeneur seeks groundfloor investor for "social networking" concept. I have the talent and the time, I just need your cash. A check for $3000.00 will do just fine.

http://www.digitalmeetingcenter.com/man-files-lawsuit-claiming-to-own-facebook/851138/

A man from New York suing over claims that he owns 84% of Facebook Inc has a copy of $3,000 cashier’s check as proof, which may support his claim against the popular social network.

The check is made out to the CEO of the company, Mark Zuckerberg, and dated three days before Paul Ceglia claims the two men signed a contract in 2003. According to Ceglia, that agreement empowers him to control one of the biggest social networks in the world.

Ceglia received a copy of the check last week, as was reported by his attorney. The check is the first evidence to be made public that Ceglia had contractual relationship with Zuckerberg.

Now the case is pending in federal court in Buffalo, New York.
Ceglia also claims allegedly he has signed a “work for hire” contract with Zuckerberg in 2003, but the current CEO of the Facebook Inc was an 18-year-old student of Harward University at that time.

He adds the agreement included work for Zuckerberg, which included implementation of computer programming. Meanwhile, Ceglia, 37, has provided a $1,000 investment into the project called “The Face Book”. And the check, made out to Zuckerberg, is dated April 25, 2003.

Zuckerberg attorneys confirmed that he really worked for Ceglia once, but completely deny that he signed the contract being in business relationship with him.

Ceglia keeps insisting that he and Zuckerberg signed the contract in hotel in Boston.

The parties are scheduled to be back in federal court in Buffalo on October 13.

That would rock if Fuckerberg lost the rights to Facebook.

If the dude has a real case thats pretty amazing.

But why is this only coming out now? FaceBook was worth billions years ago.

Hard not to dismiss this as a scam

He was 18 at the time. Eighteen year old people tend to do rather dumb things.

Unless there's a contract I doubt there's any way to prove what the money was for, even if the cheque does exist.

No, he was 30 at the time, Zuckerberg was 18.

Again, why wait until now to come out with this?

It says Ceglia received a copy of the check last week. Maybe he's been trying to get it for years, as the best tangible proof of his claim.

while i'd love to see zucker get his ass handed to him over this, it won't happen. there is no reason to wait until now. it has nothing to do with money and fb being worth more now. even 2 years ago, it was worth an unbelievable amount that any sane (and legit) person/claim would have brought this up then. its fake

If what I heard is correct, the statute of limitations was about to come to an end which might be why the guy came forward now.

The way I heard it is this guy has been trying for years behind the scenes to get Zuckerberg to admit to the deal and give him his fair share. He didn't bring it right out in the open right away because he wanted to keep it out of the courts and deal with it privately. Apparently Zuckerberg has been telling him to FOAD for a while, and left this guy no choice.

That sounds a lot more plausible.

He also may have been trying to get things together to prove his case. Should be fun to watch this play out :D

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/paul-ceglia-facebook-claim-stemmed-arrest/story?id=11305322

In an interview with Bloomberg News, Paul Ceglia, 37, said he wouldn't have found the old contract supporting his claim in the $25 million company had he not been arrested and sued by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo over his wood-pellet fuel company.

"If this thing hadn't happened the way it happened, no way I would have ever started looking through these ancient folders," Ceglia said in a story published today. "That contract would just be sitting in there gathering dust."
